Ray has been a visionary in the construction industry for 45 + years. He saw the need early on to integrate carpet, cabinets and the ready mix into the traditional lumber yard format. Growing all areas of the business, and serving on various boards helping to grow Independence and Montgomery county has been his passion for many years. Currently Ray enjoys the fruits of his labors and travels much of the year, always remaining with his finger on the pulse and offering his vast knowledge to all of our employees and customers alike. He graduated form the University of Kansas with a bachelors degree, and is proud to call himself a Jayhawk.

Mark Woods
Vice President/General Manager , Woods Lumber and Independence Ready Mix
Mark exemplifies the fifth generation of Woods dedicated to serving the construction industry. Literally growing up in the business he has done everything from dusting shelves as a youngster to driving a ready mix truck .Before graduating from Wichita State University with a Bachelors degree, he worked at Star Lumber & Supply in Wichita . Since returning to work full time in 1991 Woods Lumber has experienced unprecedented growth, and added equipment rental to a growing list of services provided to our customers. Currently he serves as General Manager of Independence Ready Mix, Woods Rentals and Woods Lumber.
